STAREAST 2013

STAREAST 2013 took place from 28 April to 3 May 2013 at Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida. Part of the STAR (Software Testing Analysis and Review) family of conferences organised by Software Quality Engineering, at the time recognised as a leader in the software testing industry for over 20 years, the event offered more than 100 learning and networking opportunities. The week combined keynotes, half and full day tutorials, concurrent sessions, bonus sessions, pre-conference training classes and an Expo of testing solution providers. Featured speakers included Lee Copeland, Michael Bolton, James Bach, Dorothy Graham and Lloyd Roden.

Organizations spend countless hours in load testing exercises with the intent of finding and fixing system bottlenecks to improve overall performance. But how much time is spent in the process of preparing and executing the test versus finding and fixing real issues. Effective load testing requires both the process and tools to 1) impose a representative user load on the system and 2) track that load down to the root cause of the performance problems.
