The Aortic Valve Repair: A step-by-step approach course provides in-depth training of aortic valve repair from valve sparing root replacement to isolated aortic valve repair for tricuspid, bicuspid and unicuspid valve including pediatric AV repair.

Objectives

Identifying good candidates for aortic valve repair. Learning the surgical steps for a reproducible repair from valve sparing root replacement and isolated aortic valve repair surgery. Management of specific situations or failures. Setting up of a network with colleagues for an active aortic valve repair programme. Setting up an evaluation of the results (implementation of database or participation to existing registries).

Who should attend

Cardiac surgeons and advanced residents, echo cardiographers (cardiologists and anesthesiologists). Heart team consisting of surgeons and echographers is encouraged.
