At the end of last year, when we last updated this website and announced the postponement of SMiRT 26 to July 10 through 15, 2022 we also indicated a renewed preparation timeline. Herewith, we would like to inform you that we are taking the next step in organizing our anniversary in-person conference in Berlin/Potsdam.

As you well know, SMiRT is the premium conference series bringing together nuclear industry and academic researchers to mark the advances in understanding and development of engineering solutions for the entire nuclear cycle – from material science, plant design, and construction issues, through safe operation, reliability, risk, margins, and life extension, to decommissioning and waste disposal.

We now renew our call for abstracts and the invitation to be part of SMiRT 26 being held in the Kongresshotel Potsdam from July 10 through 15, 2022 by submitting papers to present your technical achievements, by joining the discussions during the conference, by sharing the state of the art developments, scientific and technological innovations, as well as presenting your company to the audience. SMiRT 26 will bring leaders, managers, and engineers from around the world together to drive innovation for safe, reliable, and efficient nuclear energy in the face of the global energy transition.

We are proud to invite you to the city in which Thomas Jaeger initiated the SMiRT conferences back in 1971: Berlin, Germany’s political, cultural, and historical center. Located in the heart of Europe, it is an easy city to access that has once again become a top ten destination amongst world metropolises. With Kongresshotel Potsdam as our new venue for 2022, you will enjoy an ideal starting point for discovering the city’s living history, art treasures from all eras, trendy shopping, and wild club culture.

    Berlin/Potsdam, a Capital of Masterminds

Humboldt, Einstein, Virchow, Koch, Meitner, Planck, and many other famous scholars are testimonies to the fact that Berlin has always had a special attraction for scientists. Today, it is one of the largest and most diverse science regions of the continent, with roughly 200,000 people from around the world teaching, researching, working, and studying here.
